Prestia Andrea

Andrea Prestia (Torino, 1996) achieved both his BSc and MSc in Biomedical Engineering at Politecnico di Torino in 2018 and 2020, respectively. His MSc path with Biomedical Instrumentation specialization concluded under the supervision of Professor Danilo Demarchi with the thesis “Design and Integration of an Event-Driven Rehabilitation System for Functional Electrical Stimulation”, after which Andrea continued to work with the eLiONS group at the Department of Electronics and Telecommunications of Politecnico di Torino. He is a PhD student since November 2021 and his main role within the research group is software development and system integration for motor rehabilitation-oriented applications. The peculiarity of his research branch is the use of event-based/bio-inspired features derived from the surface electromyographic signal as control inputs for the neuromuscular applications of the eLiONS group. His research interests include electronic circuits design for biosignals acquisition, wireless body sensor networks, and human-machine interfaces. He is also the webmaster of this site!
