Del Bono Fabiana

Fabiana Del Bono is a second-year PhD student in Electrical, Electronic, and Telecommunications Engineering.

She obtained her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees with honors in Biomedical Engineering from Politecnico di Torino in 2018 and 2020, respectively. She also obtained a double Master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering from Politecnico di Milano in 2021.

Throughout her undergraduate studies, she engaged in extracurricular experiences such as the Young Talents project and the Alta Scuola Politecnica. These programs allowed her to explore current scientific topics, gain insights into innovation management, and work on multidisciplinary projects in the medical field.

Fabiana has had several international experiences, spending part of her graduate studies at KTH Stockholm and conducting her thesis on implantable neurotechnologies at Imperial College London.

In her research activities with the eLiONS group, she focuses on active implantable devices for the treatment of chronic diseases. Specifically, she is involved in the Nanochannel Delivery System and Rewire projects, where she contributes to the development of wireless electronic systems.

She is responsible for system-level design and ensuring that the devices meet functional and regulatory requirements during the pre-clinical stage. This involves utilizing her skills in hardware, firmware, and software development, as well as her knowledge of medical instrumentation.

Fabiana describes herself as a people-oriented engineer who is constantly eager to learn and take on new challenges. She considers herself tireless in her pursuit of personal growth and is highly motivated to collaborate with others who share her passion for making a positive impact on the world.

When she is not in the lab, she is an active person: after her past as a competitive athlete, she enjoys swimming and long rollerskating sessions. She loves to travel, take photographs, and draw. When she does take a break, it’s usually to gaze at a starry sky.
