Demir Suleyman Mahircan

Suleyman Mahircan Demir received the B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in electrical and electronics engineering from Middle East Technical University (METU), Northern Cyprus Campus (NCC), in 2017 and 2020, respectively. He worked with Prof. Dr. Ali Muhtaroglu for his master’s thesis, entitled “Design of Fully Integrated Milliwatt Thermoelectric Energy Harvesting Interface Circuit for Wireless Body Sensor Networks.” During his master’s studies, he worked as a Graduate Research Assistant in two micro-scale energy harvesting projects. In addition, he worked as a Graduate Teaching Assistant for various courses. These courses include Computer Architecture/Organization, Introduction to VLSI Design, Embedded Systems Development, and Logic Design.

In November 2020, he started his Ph.D. in Electronics Engineering at Politecnico di Torino. For his Ph.D. thesis, he is currently working on “Wearable Piezoelectric Sensors” in collaboration with Instituto Italiano di Tecnologia (IIT), Center for Biomolecular Nanotechnologies (CBN), Lecce, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Danilo Demarchi and Prof. Dr. Massimo De Vittorio.

His research interests include wearable electronics for healthcare applications, wireless body sensor networks, low-power circuits and systems, and integrated circuit design. He has been an IEEE graduate student member since December 2017.
